Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts

SYMBIS

Dr. Josh is SYMBIS certified, a pre-marital counseling resource.  He will send you an assessment to be taken online independent of your fiancé.  The assessment asks several questions about who you are, your views on finances, communication styles, conflict and much more.  We'll use the customized outline SYMBIS creates to guide our counseling sessions.  Each session is 1 to 1:30 hours. We will probably laugh a little and also learn more about yourself, your future spouse and God's vision for your marriage.

Pre-Marital Counseling FAQ

  • How many times will we meet for pre-marital counseling? 

    • 2 - 4 sessions.​

  • How long do the pre-marital counseling sessions last?

    • 1 to 1:30 hours.​

  • Where will we meet?

    • ​Typically at FBC Covington 

  • When will we meet for the first time?

    • You will need to schedule an appointment with Pastor Josh by sending him an email at jjordan@fbccov.org

  • How much does pre-marital counseling cost?

    • There is no set fee for pre-marital counseling.​

  • How much do we pay the pastor for officiating our wedding?

    • There is no set fee for the pastor.  Typically wedding officiants are paid between $300 and $600 and if traveling, those expenses are paid as well.

Best time to meet

In order to maximize the counseling experience, Pastor Josh requests to meet with couples during office hours.

Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Available Times

The most available times for pre-marital counseling are:

Tuesday 9am-11am

Wednesday 9:30-11:30am & 3:00-5:00pm

Thursday 9:30-11:30am

The best thing you can do individually is to pray while you prepare for marriage. Commit to pray for your heart to be prepared for what He wants to do in your life.
